The DECODE Database provides a digital, on-line collection of encrypted/encoded historical manuscripts and keys produced in our history.
The DECODE Database (henceforth referred to as "the site") is run by the Department of Linguistics and Philology, Uppsala University, referred to below as "we" or "us". The server hosting the site is located in Sweden and is subject to Swedish law. We provide the site subject to the following conditions.
The site is a hosting service. Registered users of the site may upload text, pictures and other information ("content") which will be stored by us, and is shared with other registered users and other users of the site, except in circumstances where registered users choose to make their content inaccessible to other users; this functionality is noted where available.
The term "Your Content" involves all content (text, pictures, and other information) that you upload to the site. You can remove Your Content at any time. You agree to not upload any content to which you do not hold the necessary rights. We do not claim any ownership rights of Your Content. We do not use Your Content commercially. We may share Your Content with third parties in order to perform image analysis and other types of analyses, except for the content that you have chosen to make inaccessible.
Should Your Content be in violation of applicable copyright law or other laws on intellectual property rights or be in any way abusive or illegal, we reserve the right to remove such content without any prior warning.
Using the site does not require an account, but without one, access to certain content may be restricted.
Your account is personal, and access to it may not be shared. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you are in violation of these Terms and Conditions, including if we have reasons to believe that use of your account may result in copyright infringement.
Should you find any content on the site which is or may be in violation of applicable copyright law or other laws on intellectual property rights or in any way abusive or illegal, please report this to us via email at decode@stp.lingfil.uu.se. Such information may be deleted by us at any time without any prior warning.
Your personal information is handled according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You can read more about it at ec.europa.eu. The personal information that you provide (name, e-mail address, affiliation, background) is stored and used to enable users of the site to see who has uploaded and modified certain content, and to simplify collaboration between users.
You can opt out of your continued involvement and unsubscribe as a registered member whenever you wish, without the need to provide any explanation. If you are no longer interested in being a registered user in the DECODE database, please contact us by writing to decode@stp.lingfil.uu.se.
