Additional Information
Two strips of paper with 4, resp. 6 lines of code, 140 and 200 codegroups in sum total. The almost exclusive use of 1- and 2-digit numbers suggests that we are dealing with a homophonic substitution cipher. On the basis of storage and handwriting it seems likely that we are dealing with the same cipher here, but this has yet to be established. This cipher probably dates from the English Civil War.
